How to Apply

Please apply online by completing the Coordinated International Experience application form in the PD Portal (you do not need to be a co-op student to apply – please use your UBC CWL for login).

You will need to include the following information within your application by the deadline:

  • your name, contact details, student number and discipline;
  • your GPA for your most recent academic session of full-time studies;
  • your chosen CIE partner institution (students may submit only one application with their first choice institution);
  • the name and course number of the courses you want to take at the CIE partner institution (refer to our course mappings for the latest pre-approved courses);
  • a statement of intent as to why you should be considered for participation in the CIE program by the partner institution (300 – 500 words); and
  • your resume – uploaded to the EngCORE application form in PDF format

All courses that students request on their application must be engineering courses (or environmental design courses for Bachelor of Environmental Design students) pre-approved by the CIE office and the Faculty of Applied Science to ensure that the credits transfer back to UBC.

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed at UBC. Once approved by UBC, applications are forwarded to Coordinated International Experience partners for consideration. The CIE partner institutions make the final decisions on whether applicants are accepted.
