Chemical and Biological

Chemical and Biological Engineering is a unique program that merges two complementary fields. Students take foundational courses on physical, chemical and biological sciences, transport phenomena, kinetics, separations, process engineering and design and economics. Through their academic courses, students also become well versed in Microsoft Excel, MATLAB and Aspen software.

Optional Specializations in Chemical Engineering:

Biological Engineering
Concentrates on biotechnology, bio-processing in food, chemical and other industries, and biomedical engineering.

Environmental Engineering
Emphasizes reducing or preventing pollution in industrial systems, waterways, water systems and soils.

Process Engineering
Focuses on design, operation and control of process industries such as oil and gas, pulp and paper, petrochemicals, polymers and plastics, and inorganic chemicals and fertilizers.
